A Misty Morning Harvest

It was a gorgeous morning to harvest - cool and misty; refreshing but a bit muddy after all the rain. Our CSA veggies needed a thorough hose down before being packed into baskets.

Today's baskets included: cabbage, swiss chard, beets, red onions, cucumbers and lemon cucumbers, zucchini and squash, tomatoes, turnips, parsley, basil, dill, oregano, kale, yellow beans, garlic and carrots.

And eggs and bread too, of course.

I also harvested a few extra special things for our own dinner table seeing as Daddy and the big boys would be back from their camping adventure.

A very beautiful broccoli.
A ton of tiny tomatoes.
A split cabbage.  Oops!  Still yummy though.
A mutant carrot.  Poor thinning on my part.  Another oops!
Charlie, Abbott and the goats chowed down on all the scraps and extra cabbage leaves leftover after the CSA baskets had been made.  Nothing goes to waste here!

Funny ears!
Now, all that is left to do is BBQ up some supper and relax with a Monday evening beverage.  It has been a good start to the week.
