We started the day off by wishing Daddy a happy "Day of Ian" and sending him on his merry way. He had a wonderful day of solo fishing at a secret lake in a secret location. He brought home proof of his effort, of course, which will make a delicious dinner for us later this week.
Next, we wished Alistair a happy "First Solo Visit to Grandma's House" and sent him on his merry way. He had a wonderful day of playing fetch with Annabelle, scrubbing pine cones (whatever floats his boat) and eating his way though Grandma's pantry of Zoodles and blueberry muffins.
The remainder of us headed on our merry way back to Gatineau Park for a mountain hiking adventure. We rock climbed our way up, up, up to Luskville Falls. It was 300 m of elevation over 2 km. Liam and Seamus found it tough going but enjoyed the challenging climb. It was perfect weather for a short hike. The trail was busy but the views from up high were lovely.

These are big mountains for around here! |
There were educational placards. |
And waterfalls! |
Seamus packed extra snacks. |
He also built rock sculptures along the way. |
We made it to the fire tower! |
Spotted 'shroom. |
Playing in the waterfall. |
A steep descent. |
We all reconvened back home for a well earned dinner of Ian's venison sausages and homemade coleslaw. I am betting that everyone around here sleeps well tonight!

Look at that wiener! |
