When we have onions the size of our palms and our cabbages are being devoured by slugs, all signs point to it being coleslaw making time!
Recipe: Gael Glen Farm's Coleslaw
1/2 to 3/4 cup white sugar
1 cup white vinegar
3/4 cup vegetable oil
1 tablespoon salt
1 tablespoon dry mustard
1/4 tsp black pepper
1/4 tsp celery seed
Mix all ingredients in a pot and bring to a boil.
Pour over grated cabbage, onion, celery and carrots and refrigerate. Done and done.
P.S. Remove all slugs from cabbage before grating. Because, well...yuck.
