A Dog's Breakfast of a Day

Today was a bit of a dog's breakfast - we must have done a dozen small things around the farm.

With our indoor garden rapidly expanding, Seamus and Ian visited the hardware store bright and early this morning to buy parts to add a second tier to our plant stand.  We also replaced all the fluorescent light bulbs since it has been several years since we have done so.

I cooked a turkey.  Why?  It was huge and I needed the freezer space.

We made bone broth.  How could we not with with a turkey carcass laying around?

I made cultured buttermilk, creme fraiche, and yogurt. We were out.  Now we're not.

My best acquisition today was a chalk marker to label the many jars of "white stuff" inside my fridge.  Now there is less chance that the boys will be served a bowl of creme fraiche when they ask for yogurt.

We also drove to the vet's office in Almonte again to pick up another booster for Martha.  I don't want to talk about it.

Funny enough, it turns out that our vet has a sense of humour. He did not give us one needle like yesterday. Instead, he set us up with an entire container of medicine and three needles.  It is clear that our vaccination shenanigans have not painted us in the most competent light but at least this takes the pressure off.

Lucky for us, the vet's office is right beside Crooked Mile Brewery so we stopped in for a visit with Nick and a beer after a long day.  We brought our boys with us but the brewery's puzzles and popcorn kept them occupied.  They were very well behaved for a Thursday evening.

After a belly full of turkey and Crooked Mile's Uptown Breakfast stout, Ian and I decided that we were too tired to tackle Martha's booster tonight.  That is one adventure best left for tomorrow morning.
