When the fish aren't really biting, we can take solace in the fact that we have more than enough tomatoes to go around.
And while our apple crop this year was severely hindered by the late spring frost that also decimated our grapes and plums, we were able to find four apples on our trees today! We made excellent use of them in German Apple Pancakes for supper.
Tomatoes for days and apples for supper - we are living a vegetarian's dream. Who needs fish anyway?!
