A Very Snowy Shrove Tuesday

We received a huge amount of snow last night and throughout the day today.  Even with the boys helping with the snow removal, clearing off the cars, all the pathways, gates, barn doors, house doors, porch, deck, driveway, and skating pond took forever!

Waist deep snow (if you are five)!

Ian getting down to business with the snow blower.

Luckily we had some special treats to lift our spirits and re-energize our tired shovelling muscles.

Super special hot chocolate bombs!
An amazing Valentine's Day treat from Ms. Kerry.
Thank you!!

It took the bombs a little while to dissolve in the mugs of
hot milk but the result certainly was delicious.
Seamus' bomb was full of mini marshmallows which exploded to the
surface of his cocoa.  He thought that this was fantastic!

Crepes (or as we call them 1,2,3 pancakes) with our maple syrup for lunch.
It is Shrove Tuesday after all.

It was a very snowy day full to the brim of both shovelling and pancakes.  We have a clear preference for a surplus of one of these things over the other; I bet you can guess which one!  And no, none of us are giving up shovelling for Lent, though the boys thought that this was excellent idea.  They are thinking that we should teach Pecky Becky to take over this chore.  Good luck.
