We started off the day with an online homeschooling lesson about our solar system. Liam was very engaged, followed along quite well and learned lots of new and interesting space facts. Seamus said he was interested but when there failed to be any discussion of space aliens his interest waned and he wandered away from the computer about 35 minutes in to the lesson. Alistair has no idea what space even is but if his brothers were doing it then he had to be in there like a dirty shirt.
After lunch and short afternoon naps, we headed outside for a forest walk across the street. We made it to the turn around point when the boys spotted a "mysterious" trail that led to a plowed road. I half-heartedly tried to get them to return along the forest path (forest air is so much nicer than car fumes) but they were determined to have "an adventure" so off we went. It turns out that their adventure path, while along plowed roads, was actually 1.3 km longer than my forest trail. Who's laughing now, huh? It was an hour long hike/walk/ruck (3.5 km in total) and all three boys enjoyed the winter sunshine and got some much needed exercise. Crazy kids!
