Simply Perfect

One of our springtime favourites is chive blossom infused vinegar. The vinegar turns a gorgeous pink colour and has a subtle chive flavour. We use it to make homemade salad dressings. The pickled chive blossoms are also edible on salads and sandwiches.


Tonight we used our chive blossom infused vinegar in one of our favourite and simplest salad dressings - vinegar and brown sugar.  This dressing is the perfect topping for fresh leaf lettuce straight from the garden.  Vinegar and brown sugar dressing is a staple on my Grandma's springtime dinner table and I always think of her when I set it out.  Sometimes simple is perfect.
