A Prey Drive in Overdrive

Earlier this week we went "shopping" at the Uncles' Poultry Emporium for a few extra feeders and waterers and four rolls of electric poultry netting.  Our plan is to move the baby ducks out of the baby chick coop and into one side of the adult chicken coop.  We will lock them up safely in the coop at night and during the day they will free range in the backyard.

The one (major) problem with this plan is that Emily is a verifiable poultry assassin.  All it would take is for one kid to leave the back door open and wham-o! we would have a dozen dead ducks.  The poultry netting is exactly what we need to shift Emily's prey drive out of overdrive and keep our baby ducks well protected.

I have no doubt that Emily will shock herself within a hour of the ducks being installed in their new electrified home.  Really, if she makes it that long I will be impressed.  I give her ten minutes.  Tops.
