Our CSA is Up and Running!

Are you looking to access fresh, local veggies in west Ottawa?

Gael Glen Farm is operating a 16-week CSA program.
Our Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program allows families to partner with us, a local farmer, by pre-ordering a basket of vegetables to be delivered weekly through the harvest season.

By supporting Community Supported Agriculture you are not only investing in the farmer but you are also investing in the future of your land, your health, and building a stronger community by keeping your dollars local.

Cost: $700 for weekly delivery for 16 weeks (June through September).

Some of the vegetables you can expect in your basket include: basil, beets, beans, broccoli, brussels sprouts, cabbage, carrots, chives, cucumbers, daikon, dill, eggplant, garlic, hot peppers, kale, lettuce, mesclin mix lettuce, onion, parsley, peas, pumpkin, radish, scallions (green onions), spinach, squash, sweet peppers, swiss chard, tomatoes, turnip, and zucchini.

You will also received a dozen of our farm fresh eggs in your basket each week.

In addition to eggs and veggies, our CSA baskets will include a variety of "bonus" speciality items at no extra cost. For example, homemade sourdough bread made with wild caught yeast, hops infused iced tea, fresh cut flowers, a tube of our beeswax lip balm, a jar of our raw honey, pickled eggs, jams or jellies, hot sauce, salsa, a jar of canned tomatoes, kombucha, rhubarb, homemade scones, a beeswax candle, sauerkraut, homemade cheese, apples, etc.

As we try out new things as part of our homesteading lifestyle we inevitably make too much. We are looking for families that will be excited to receive these types of items in their baskets in addition to fresh veggies and eggs.

We welcome the involvement of our CSA families on our farm. We always need help weeding, canning, extracting honey, mucking barns (haha), etc. Families with children are more than welcome - many hands (however small) make light work.

We are looking for a family that is flexible. We are a small operation and this is our first time running a CSA. Our garden will be epic but veggies are weather dependent and there are always surprises when farming.

If you are interested in joining us for the 2018 season, please contact us at info@gaelglenfarm.ca

Space is limited. We are accepting two families this year.
