Greens & Gardens

We spent much of this afternoon weeding the last of our front yard flower beds.  We are on a mission to spruce up the front of our house for better curb appeal (yes, I know that we don't even have curbs!).

During Alistair's nap, Seamus and I tackled our Woodland Garden - the largest and driest of the flower beds.  We battled against thistles, dandelions, rose thorns and, of course, the always dreaded wild parsnip.  But we prevailed.  All that is left to do is edging, bagging up the weeds and doing a really good weed whack around the perimeter.  Next up, pressure washing the house siding and then sanding and painting our porch railings.  And then it is mulch...sigh.  I cannot seem to escape mulch.

We were pretty tired come dinner time so Ian treated us by preparing supper.  He made us a delectable chef's salad with our homegrown spinach and scallions, farm fresh eggs and yesterday's yummy ham.  Healthy and delicious.  A great way to end a productive day.

Have a great weekend everyone!
