Some things in life are super yucky but, at the same time, so, so good.
Like playing in pig mud. Now that the pigs are gone, they boys have taken over their wallow. I know - so, so gross. And they got beyond filthy. But....they also had the absolute best time constructing bridges over the muck. Their joy is worth the yuck.
Also like smoked pig head. I know - so, so gross. It looks revolting with the fuzzy snout and the eyeballs. Ugh. Yuck. But...it did make the most delicious "Pig Face Soup" ever (the boys named it). We used our own carrots, parsnips, herbs, pork bone broth, dried yellow peas, and smoked jowl meat. It was truly an excellent meal whose taste was worth the yuck.
Sometimes you just have to push through the yuck to get to the other side of totally worth it.
