With the kids' help, I managed to get a bunch more metal loops up for more hoop houses. The next step is to cut, stretch and secure sheet plastic over top. These mini greenhouses make a
huge difference. We tested the air under the existing ones today and it was balmy - the perfect environment for our new seedlings to flourish!
Liam, Alistair and I also cleaned up the asparagus patch. If this lovely weather persists, we will be seeing those delicious green shoots before we know it! While we were clipping, Liam was reminiscing about how delicious our asparagus spears are when Daddy cooks them up on the BBQ. Raising kids who dream of eating homegrown vegetables must earn me some parenting points, no?

Liam went a little loopy in the middle. |

After Liam tapped out, Alistair stuck around to help me finish up.
(Not like he had much of a choice.) |
We concluded the day with a simple, though absolutely delicious, family dinner of pita wraps featuring BBQ'd kabobs made of our farm raised lamb, topped with homemade tzatziki and our homegrown red clover microgreens. Divine.
Let's call it just another day in quarantine...oops, I mean paradise. ;)
