A Social Distancing Road Trip

After weeks of not leaving the farm, we ventured off today on a little jaunt to pick up some fertilized turkey and duck eggs for hatching.  The boys were excited to leave the house until they realized that they would not be leaving the van.  We did a fair amount of driving but did not encounter another human being.  Our turkey eggs were left in a mailbox and it was a porch pick up for our duck eggs.

Everything you need for a social distancing road trip.
This year we will be hatching Royal Palms for our Thanksgiving dinner and Pekin/Cayuga cross meat ducks.

The boys were happy to be involved in all aspects of today's egg retrieval adventure and they very closely supervised Ian as he placed their eggs carefully in the incubator.

A huge shout out to Uncle Kyle and Uncle Shawn for loaning us their very swanky incubator.  Raising feathery friends is one of the very best parts of spring and they made it possible.  Thank you!
