A View from Above

The quietest Easter in Gael Glen Farm history started very early this morning.  Like, 3am early.  Mama was awoken by two excited little boys sneaking downstairs to see if a certain bunny had visited yet.  After being sent straight back to their beds and waking up again at a more reasonable hour, we then spent the day preparing for both the upcoming storm and the imminent arrival of new lambs.  But before we could get to all that, there was some egg hunting to be done, of course.

When everyone was sufficiently energized, we headed outside to build some lambing pens.  If you remember, Charlie the donkey is not good (I mean really not good) with baby animals so the ewes and lambs will need their own safe space in the shared barn.

We also tried to windproof our hoop garden covers a bit before the forecasted 80 km/hr winds arrive tonight.

Lastly, we finally got around to pruning our grape vines.  This has been on my to do list for weeks now and with the buds starting to pop, I was running out of time.

An unusual view of the farm from above the grape vines.
All in all, it was another busy Sunday on the farm with three very energetic (read: sugar crazed) children.  Even so, good fun was had by all...though they are still not sleeping and it is 9pm!
