All that landscaping work we observed while at Grandma's cottage last week must have subconsciously inspired us to do some excavation of our own! We picked up our shovels today, ventured into the infamous pond garden and got to digging.

After hours of ripping out grass and removing stones, we can now see what we are up against. My vision is a bird bath waterfall into the pond surrounded by a fragrant garden. We plan to call it Gael Glen Farm's Rose & Raspberry Tea Garden. I am dreaming of plants like lemon verbena, pineapple sage, and bergamot and hosting fancy tea parties under the maple tree.
We have a long way to go but at least we are off to a good start!
