We're Rolling

Chore time here on Gael Glen Farm is almost always coupled with playtime.  We spent today getting caught up on laundry but also playing in the sandbox.

This latest warm weather streak has given us a chance to pay extra attention to our perennial fruits and vegetables this year.  Our grape vines have been pruned and fertilized.  The apple, pear and plum trees have been pruned and sprayed with dormant oil and sulphur.  We have removed the straw from the strawberry patch.  The strawberries, rhubarb, asparagus, sorrel and raspberry patches have all been fertilized and watered.  Finally, we have prepared the last pallet garden for planting.  This one will wait for the lettuces that we have started indoors.  The other four pallet/box gardens have already been seeded with greens and snap peas.

The big boys are great weeders but much to Alistair's delight, they are equally happy zooming him around the backyard in the green push car.

In the end, a little bit of work got done today but, most importantly, lots of fun was had by all.  That is just how we roll here on the farm.
