Cosmetic Procedures

Nobody was really digging the colder weather today.  We got a measly two wheelbarrows full of mulch spread on the tea garden before the boys called it quits and asked to go inside.  I cannot really blame them though, even the flowers were hiding out from the cold!

Yesterday: "Hello sunshine!"

Today: "No thanks, it is too cold to come out.  Maybe tomorrow."

Instead of working outside, we focused on sprucing up inside.  We gave Charlotte and Emily DIY fur cuts, baths and nail clips.  They were sorely in need of a spa day.  They are now cleaned up and super sweet smelling but fast asleep.  Apparently, it is exhausting getting beautified!

After the kids went to bed, I managed to get another eight wheelbarrows full of mulch spread on the garden.  Then it simultaneously got really dark and I ran out of the cardboard that I have been using as a weed barrier under the mulch, so it was quitting time.  Even with the minimal amount of mulching that got done today, the tea garden already looks much improved - mulch is like a little face lift for the earth.

Tomorrow's quest is to find us some more cardboard so we can keep mulching.  Too bad recycling day is not until next week!
