Liam and Seamus were beyond thrilled to receive their very own Christmas cards from Uncle Tommy and Auntie Iris. This was a BIG deal for them. Seamus immediately cleared off the fireplace mantle so they could put the cards on full display. This was almost as big a deal as when Grandma Cora mailed them a gift card to "Old MacDonald's"; that day Liam was convinced that he had won the toddler lottery.
We have been talking a lot lately about how Christmas is about giving though I wasn't sure how much of this was sinking in. For example, earlier this week I took Seamus to Toys R Us so he could choose a gift for Liam. Our entire visit consisted of: "Liam would like this. I would too. What about a gift for me? One for him, one for me?"
Today; however, I was pleasantly surprised. Upon receiving their Christmas cards, the boys immediately asked to spread the holiday cheer by hand delivering cards to our neighbours. So, we filled our trusty Playskool mail cart and headed out.
I must say they made very good deliverers of season's greetings. Mr. George, Mr. Alan, and Mrs. Laurie - better check your mailboxes for an envelope stuffed with toddler joy.
Excellent blog about the meaning of the holiday season....sharing Christmas cheer! Good job!
