In other news, Liam and Seamus helped me milk the goats this morning before school. Who knew that a human breast pump would work so well on Martha?!
Martha stood pretty still for us when being milked by the pump. Unfortunately, she pooped twice during the process which grossed us all out. Conversely, we could not get the pump to work at all on Mellie. I think her teats may be too long. We milked her out by hand instead. She stood nicely for this and it was a pleasure doing business with her. We are slowly getting the hang of what works best for everyone. Each goat has her own personality and clear likes and dislikes; once we figure all this out, it will be smooth sailing (or milking, as it were).
