this for dinner, you know that you have done well!

Hickory smoked beef ribs with homemade baked beans
and an ultra slow roasted maple butter sweet potato. |
What the heck did we get up to today, you ask?

Hardenin' Off Some Veggies

Get out of my living room! |

But please don't die of sun or wind burn* |
This is in addition to gardening, laundry, hooking up our sprinkler system, fixing our crooked lettuce frame, putting away our cold frames, caterpillar removal duty, animal care, kid supervising, housekeeping, and spoiling Mama. Whoa! It was a busy day.
* It takes many days to harden off veggies before they can be planted in the garden. When they first move outdoors, they need full shade and shelter from the wind, then gradually a bit more sun and a bit more wind, then finally full sun and no protection from the wind or cold at night. The whole process takes about a week. As much as it is a pain to lug trays of plants around, killing them by rushing them into the garden before they are ready is not an option I am interested in pursuing.
