A Scoop of a Day

It was the perfect day for ice cream...but we'll get to that.

The boys and I tested out a new (to us) trail in Arnprior today.

It had lots of boardwalks, mosquitoes and about a bazillion gypsy moths.  It was moth madness!

We found a lime kiln.  The boys always think these are cool.

There was a porcupine cave and some rare walking ferns on the rocks above.

There was at least a million of these guys flying around every which way.  We all got hit in the face multiple times.

We found the look out spot at which point Seamus accidentally slipped into the lake soaking both his feet.

We hiked through a very strange bamboo forest.

Ali took his hike nap, of course.

Liam was on the look out for ruins and was thrilled to find this rusty old car in the middle of the forest.  How the heck do cars get into the middle of the forest in the first place?!  Such a mystery.

The boys were very well behaved today and they were such a pleasure to spend time with.  We celebrated our fun and successful hike with absolutely huge ice cream cones in Almonte.  These are some happy faces.

We hope everyone had a fun day enjoying the beautiful weather like us.  Tell us that you got up to outside today!
