Jam Session

A local gem, Small Pony Barrel Works, is brewing up some sort of wild blueberry creation.  They happen to be done the blueberry-steeping portion of their beer and so we were lucky enough to be the recipients of a few hefty buckets of wild blueberries infused with just enough beery funk to make them delectable.

This is how we came to be where we are tonight....48 jars of wild blueberry jam later.

To make matters more complicated, we opted to make several unique jam varieties...how could we not?!

We made: straight up wild blueberry jam, honey blueberry jam, honey blueberry crumble jam, and honey mint blueberry jam.

In all honestly, any of these jams are going to be to die for on a cheese platter.  The possible flavour combinations are out of this world.  Just think: honey blueberry crumble jam with goat cheese and candied pecans, honey mint blueberry jam with sharp cheddar, or honey blueberry jam with creamy brie.  The possibilities are endless.  That's why we needed 48 jars of jam.  Really.
