Horsing Around

Much to the boys' displeasure, today was a heavy book learning day.  They are so ready for summer vacation and it is only May!

We also managed to fit in some outside time to pick dandelions and horse around.

Our Ali-horse was out in full force today.
There was a lot of neighing.

We did some planting (my Mother's Day roses), transplanting (of rogue ferns and raspberry canes) and weeding (of the pallet gardens).

It is a bit hard to see but my first roses are officially planted
in my Roses & Raspberries Tea Garden.
Woohoo!

Chard, lettuce, arugula, sage, radishes and scallions.

Snap peas in covered bed.

Snap peas in uncovered bed.

The boys most enjoyed the harvesting and eating part of the day.

Ian's Shiitake mushroom logs.

Mushrooms and radishes.

Arugula.

It was a busy day and we sure got a lot accomplished - even with all the neighing.
