A Little Man of Many Costumes

Seamus wears so many different hats over the course of each day that I think he getting confused about what constitutes appropriate attire.  Is he a student? a farmer? a hunter? a builder? a kangaroo?

Yesterday he insisted on wearing snow pants on top of his swim suit to play outside.  Best to be prepared, right?  God forbid wasting any valuable play time having to go inside to change clothes.

This morning Seamus came downstairs ready for his online meeting with his teacher wearing his Sunday best - a pastel dress shirt complete with a button up suit jacket with patches on the elbows.

I was on board until we headed out to water the gardens and I noticed that he had added a scuba mask, snorkel and flippers to this outfit.  Apparently he was practising for the post-Covid vacation to Cuba that he is planning.

I managed to convince him to lose the snorkel and don a sun hat for our farm chores and today's adventure of "fern hunting" in the ditch at our neighbour's house.  Liam and Seamus transplanted a few ostrich ferns from the ditch to the base of our mulberry tree in the pond garden.  When I stop being able to dream up things like this to keep everyone occupied, we are really going to be in trouble!

Seamus and his favourite turkey Pecky Becky.
During this afternoon's quiet time, Seamus surprised me once again by turning up as a festive kangaroo going to a luau?  He was so proud of himself.

He insisted on wearing the very warm kangaroo costume for the remainder of the day.  According to Seamus, kangaroos are the best asparagus pickers...and dinner eaters....and living room tidiers...who knew?!

Our first 2020 asparagus harvest.
If nothing else, Seamus sure keeps me on my toes.  I never know what to expect next from our little man of many costumes...except extra laundry, of course.
