Keep Calm & Farm On

We would be remiss if we did not address what a busy few days it has been for coronavirus-related developments, at both the global and local levels.  Shortly following the WHO's announcement that  COVID-19 is now considered a pandemic, several more cases of the people infected with the virus in our hometown were disclosed in the media, including our Prime Minister's wife!  Most notably for us, the Ontario government has decided to close all of the publicly funded elementary and secondary schools for the next three weeks (March Break plus two additional weeks).   Some universities in the province are also closing temporarily, professional sports leagues have gone on hiatus, and many Ottawa-based workers in both the public and private sectors have been ordered to work from home.  All this to say, that laying low seems to be the name of the game we are going to be playing for the next several weeks at least.

I have never been so glad for our little farmstead and all of the homesteading knowledge that I have accrued living here.  We have absolutely everything we need to stay out of the crowds but still live comfortably for a month at least.  So, while the world rages on, we here on Gael Glen Farm will...
