Seamus, the Squirrel Whisperer

Seamus' new obsession is befriending our resident red squirrel.  The squirrel is busy preparing for winter.  Seamus sees this as the perfect opportunity to endear himself to the squirrel.  He has spent countless hours over the last few days placing horse chestnuts in strategic spots on the farm in hopes of enticing the squirrel on a scavenger hunt of sorts.  And it seems to be working.

Despite being able to pluck any number of chestnuts directly off the tree, the red squirrel seems to delight in finding the nuts that Seamus has hidden especially for him in various secret locations.  Seamus checks his hiding spots many times each day and gleefully refills the ones where the nuts have disappeared.   

It is an unusual friendship but Seamus and the squirrel seem very happy together.
