Life on the farm is overseen by our trusty and reliable grandmother clock. This clock is my inheritance from my god mother, Aunt Jane. Her chimes mark each 15 minute increment of our day and have become part of our lives. Sadly, our grandmother clock fell ill around Christmas. We realized this as her chimes slowed (it was like living in slow motion for a while) and then time stopped. Well, the clock stopped telling us the time anyway. A chime-free life really is not all it is cracked up to be. In fact, a clock that cannot chime is actually quite depressing.
Ian and I checked the clock's innards but after opening her up, we found that she is quite complex. We decided that it would be safest to leave her health issues to a professional.
Luckily Doctor Tick Tock came to save the day. He made a house call today to tend to poor grandmother clock. He fixed her jams, greased her gears, and adjusted her mechanisms.

Nothing like having an audience while you work. |

Liam was enthralled. He is now toying with becoming a clock repair man when he grows up - if a career in goat photography does not work out, of course. |
Our pocket book is now a bit lighter but we are happy to report that grandmother clock is once again feeling fine and chiming cheerfully. Sometimes all you need is a short visit from your friendly neighbourhood clock doctor.
