A Lazy New Year's Day

Nothing much to report today except that we managed to uphold Grandpa Ed's tradition of not spending any money on New Year's Day which is supposed to set us up for a frugal year to come.  Somehow I still have the sinking suspicion that 2013 will end up being an expensive year for us.  This feeling was not assuaged by the fact that our van wouldn't start today.  Ian thinks it is toast; I think it simply has an aversion to -20 C temperatures and would rather be on vacation in Florida.

Aside from some van drama, we had a pretty lazy January 1st complete with lots of napping, novel reading and schnauzer snuggling.  Can you blame us? It's cold outside!
