Beware of Ice Daggers

There is no doubt that we enjoy the warm sunshine that arrives at this time of year but it can make farm chores somewhat treacherous.

As the sun hits the metal barn roofs, we deal with the risk of being speared by falling ice daggers.  We also have to be very careful not to slip on the large ice pads that form as the puddles of dagger drips freeze each night.

Who knew that letting out the chickens could be such risky business?!
