Summits & Slides

A hiking holiday just wouldn’t be complete without - you guessed it - hiking! We spent the morning hiking from our cabin to the summit of Mont de L’Envol. It was the highest peak to date for both Liam and Seamus and the two lookouts were well worth the ascent.

Family hike

Look at the snow on top of the sign. It was SO deep!

I couldn't carry Ali the very last and steepest part of the ascent to the summit so he had to walk.
Can you tell that he is not impressed that his Ali Car went kaput?

Snack time.

Look Out #2

It is an interesting time of year to hike - the snow was 4 feet deep! We had to be careful to stay right in the middle of the trail because if you stepped too far to the side, you’d sink into the snow up to your butt - which we all did multiple times! It was tough to get back on the trail with my leg trapped in 4 feet of snow and a 39 lb baby on my back. What a workout!

I made it!

After returning to our cabin for lunch and a brief warm up, we headed out to spend our afternoon tube sliding. It was very fast and very fun. The best part was the lift which meant that we didn’t have to walk up the hill between runs!

Needless to say, the kids are exhausted tonight and din not give us any trouble at all going right to sleep.

We're on vacation!
