Pondering

As Mother Nature continues to ponder pushing forward towards spring, inside our seedlings are pushing forward too.  Our herb tray is looking lush with baby plants popping up all over the place.

Our onions and leeks are coming up too!

It is time to plant our first crop of cool weather brassicas (broccoli, cabbage and kale). These will be transplanted out very early under row covers.

We also planted some more hot peppers. We did not have good germination rates for sweet peppers this year. Our seeds are a few years old. I picked up a new pack of Golden Calwonder Sweet Bell Peppers and will give those a try instead.

It always sees so incredible that one of these tiny seeds can produce a huge head of cabbage that can feed so many people.  Every year I ponder on how magnificent the seed to harvest process is and feel grateful for my part in it.
