Flock Folly

With all these layers, we are forever washing eggs.  Why wash, you ask?  Sometimes hens forget where their nests are and lay eggs in the muddy barnyard, sometimes they have dirty feet that rub against the eggs, and sometimes Beemster the rooster climbs into a nest to poop right beside the eggs - just because he can.

Once washed, the eggs are packed into cartons and head into the refrigerator.

We have eggs of all sizes and colours this week!
