Frosty Morning on the Farm

The weather this past week has been all over the map - we've had sun, rain and flurries!  It went up to 14 degrees Celsius (57F) on Tuesday and is down to a chilly -7 degrees Celcius (19F) this morning.  The advantage of a cold morning is the beautiful frost crystals that form on the fence posts and gate tops.  These sparkle in the morning sun and make the farm look like it is covered in tiny diamonds.

I'm not sure the chickens and ducks were as pleased with the drop in temperature as I was though.  Their drinking water had frozen into a huge ice chunk.  Below is Kate (our half blind duck) expressing her disapproval at the icy beverage.
