Today was mostly a driving day as we made our way back to the California coast. We drove west along Highway 299 through Gold Rush territory.

| We are back at the coast in the fresh ocean air. |
Upon arriving at the California coast, we checked in to Giant Redwoods RV Park in a campsite under a canopy of enormous redwood trees.
Our afternoon revolved around swimming in the South Fork Eel River - don’t worry, no eels, just clear, warm water.
The boys played tether ball, badminton, and horseshoes. We all had (much needed) hot showers; we were filthy!
Early to bed tonight in preparation for an early morning tomorrow exploring the Avenue of the Giants.
