Reserve Faunique Lac Rimouski to Parc National de Frontenac

After weathering the rainstorm and the excitement of a nighttime animal splooshing around in the lake right beside our tent, we woke bone dry and ready for action.

After breakfast we hiked to the Summit Bernard Voyer, the highest point in the Reserve Faunique Lac Rimouski. There were tons of mosquitoes and we had to coat ourselves in a gallon of bug spray but we reached the top.

We feasted on these huge wild strawberries.

The rest of the day was spent driving to Parc National de Frontenac - it was far! We stopped for lunch in Kamouraska during a huge thunderstorm. We finally found our campsite at - you guessed it - the end of a long gravel road!

Our journeys on gravels roads have been quite a sightseeing adventure. We jogged with a moose in National Parc de la Gaspesie, a mama grouse with her baby chicks leaving Lac Rimouski, and a spotted faun in Frontenac. We have also spotted bunnies everywhere!

We witnessed this juvenile moose jog along the road for at least 2 minutes!

This is mama grouse along the road with several tiny babies in the edge of the bushes.

Tonight’s fun revolved around park play, a multi-coloured campfire, and glo stick wands after so many hours cramped in the car. Tomorrow we make the final push to home.
