The sky last night was akin to a planetarium. We are, for sure, in a dark sky place and it was pretty incredible (though cold!). We woke the big boys up to experience the star lit sky (briefly) with us. Alistair was a zombie and couldn’t be roused despite our best efforts. Photos just don’t do it justice.
Today was all about some good quality downtime before we head into the tourist chaos of Yellowstone National Park. We had a leisurely wake up, a big breakfast of fried eggs, toast and hash browns, and baked some homemade bread.
We also got some solid exercise hiking up the mountain in our backyard. As usual, it was a tough climb but we saw some pretty wild flowers and found a few nice viewpoints as rewards for our hard work.
A quiet evening is the game plan before we embark on exciting hydrothermal adventures tomorrow.
