A Perfect Day for Winter Preparations

Autumn weekends don't get much better than this.  It was an absolutely gorgeous and enjoyably warm day; perfect for preparing for winter.  We pruned the raspberries and grape vines.  Put the winter tires on the cars.  Removed the pond filter and waterfall pump.  Rolled up, drained and stored all the garden hoses.  Had a bonfire with roasted wieners and marshmallows.  Then the whole family got our flu shots!  We topped off the day with homemade pizzas as a consolation for our sore arms.  What a productive and enjoyable Saturday.

When he wasn't busy helping me, Liam sought out
some quiet time high above the pell-mell of
his younger brothers in the noisy barnyard.

Raspberries are looking spaced out and healthy.

Working for their lunch.

Nothing to make you forget your woes
like cheesy, gooey pizza.
