We had everyone up really early this morning to tackle Indiana Dunes State Park’s 3 Dune Challenge before it got too hot. This is a trail up three sand mountains. It was really hard but not too hard! We succeeded!!
This early morning adventure left us famished. We head to refuel at a local breakfast joint, Peggy Sue’s Diner.
Then it was off to Lehman’s Orchard for peach picking. We could not resist getting a peach haul of our own!
A bit more driving brought us to the campus of Notre Dame university. We did a self guided tour and checked out all the famous places.
Our final stop of the day was for fireworks. The warehouse was enormous and we carefully selected a variety to test out once we return home.
This was our last day in the Dunes. We head out tomorrow with plans to visit some museums on our way to Ohio since it is supposed to rain.
Mmm…tree ripen peaches! Peach pie for Ian when he gets home…assuming there are some left?
