Day 5: Hocking Hills State Park, OH

Lesson learned: put minnows inside truck at night. We are now in the market for some more bait having accidentally fed ours to a forest animal.

On this beautifully sunny day, our hikes to Ash Cave and the Rock House were both short but good. The Rock House is the park’s only true cave and home to a good many cooing pigeons.

We made a few stops on the way back to camp - getting quarters since it is laundry day and even more important - ice cream! The Old Man’s Cave General Store had 48 flavours of soft serve! It was very hard for the boys to choose but Liam went with pistachio, Seamus with s’mores, and Ali with pina colada.

An afternoon split between fishing (Liam got one!) and laundry (four loads!), we are packing up and getting ready to move on bright and early tomorrow morning.
