Port Daniel

Trout fishing on our lake this morning was a bust - not even a bite! The big boys had a blast paddle boarding around the lake.

Next, we headed off to do some laundry at the Sepaq campground and hiked a nearby riverside trail to the perfect secluded swimming spot. Unfortunately we didn’t know this in advance and didn’t bring our swimsuits or life jackets. We’ll definitely have to return another time for a swim.

Lunch was a delicious mackerel feast.

The early afternoon was spent napping and then we headed for a swim in the river, then to the local pier for some ocean fishing and sea glass hunting.  We were very successful on the treasure hunting but no so much on the fishing. Ian lost all his lures thanks to bottom snags in less than 10 minutes.

Dinner was hotdogs and blueberry hobo pies on the campfire. Later bedtimes (thanks to good naps) hopefully means a sleep in tomorrow morning. Fingers crossed!
