Lac Marguerite & Plage-des-Beaux-Sables

We spent the first part of our first full day at our cabin trout fishing on our private lake, Lac Marguerite. I caught three small brook trout and Ian caught two but one of his was a keeper!

We spent the afternoon playing at the nearby municipal Plage-des-Beaux-Sables. The weather was scattered showers but the rain mostly held off while we were outside. The beach was lovely with fancy umbrellas and Adirondack chairs. It was also practically deserted except for the three lifeguards on duty. One lifeguard per child is a very good ratio!

We then checked out the train tunnel at the Cap a L’Enfer. We were surprised to see this as a tourist attraction as a working railroad runs through the tunnel. Pretty dangerous if you ask me. I bet you’d sure feel like you’d entered “L’Enfer” if you were caught exploring this tunnel at the same time as a train was rolling through! We definitely didn’t go in the tunnel and just took photos of both ends.

In other news, we had fish for breakfast, lunch and dinner as we work through our stores of striped bass, mackerel, and brook trout. Luckily we are as good fish eaters as we are fish catchers!

We are also running out of clean underwear and our towels are now really sandy so laundry duty at the Sepaq laundromat is in the near future.
