Bonadventure (again) & Hope Town

After their early bedtime last night, Liam and Ali were up bright and early this morning. Liam headed out right away for a paddle board trip on our mist covered lake. We also spied our resident duck family - a mama duck with her eleven ducklings. They were also out for an early morning paddle.

For today’s adventure we tried to check out the Port Daniel lighthouse but the road to it ended at a private driveway forcing us to abort our mission. Next, we headed back to Bonadventure to visit the Bioparc. This was a zoo of the local northeastern Canadian animals. It was excellent for what it was - clean, well-maintained, not busy, and the animals looked healthy. The seals and bald eagle were my favourites, though the skunks were pretty fancy too.

We headed to Hope Town in the afternoon to hike the short trail to Pointe aux Corbeaux to see the Cormorans. Next we tried to play at Hope Beach but the boys are getting picky about their beaches and decided this one was the worst of the bunch with too much seaweed on the beach and a dead bird carcass.

We splurged on dinner tonight after a visit to the Poissonnerie in Saint-Godefroi. We fished out four 2 lb lobsters named Lobstie, Jacques, Mordecai, and Lucky. Back home a lobster boil ensued and we feasted like royalty.

Another great day of vacation. Tomorrow is our last day at the cabin and then we begin our three day journey home.
