Fitz's Fit of Fury

Murtagh Fitzgibbons Fraser (the tiny rooster) is furious.  After a month of receiving one egg per day (ONE!) from a flock of two dozen very hungry chickens (TWO DOZEN!), his fine feathered ladies took a one way trip to the soup pot last night.  One is indeed the loneliest number (in reality there are six birds left but as far as Fitz is concerned the turkeys and ducks don't count).  Fitz howled for his ladies all night long.  Constantly.  I could hear him from inside.  Our neighbours must hate us.  Thank goodness Ian is heading out to pick Fitz up a brand new flock of egg layers tonight so he will once again be surrounded by comrades.  Poor Fitz.  He may be tiny but he sure has an awesome crow of fury.

Oh Christmas Tree, How Lovely are your Branches!

We had a truly wonderful time on our annual tree hunting excursion.  Seamus picked the winning tree this year and it is absolutely perfect.  It might just be the best tree we have ever had.  It smells amazing!

Santa Shaped Helper

Seamus is my Santa shaped helper during this afternoon's soap deliveries.  Happy to have his jolly laugh accompany me as we drive around town.

Weird Weather for December

It was a very strange weather day.  It started with ice rain, then a thick fog and ended off at a rather balmy 11 degrees C followed by a rainstorm.  Such weird weather for December.

The sun is trying to peek through the fog.

The sheep took full advantage of their most delicious tree
whose upper branches were weighed down by ice.

Even though it did not feel much like the North Pole, we decided to start the holiday decorating.

Alistair was very helpful and feeling festive.

TGIF

We made it to the end of the week alive.  {Sigh of relief}.  This is cause for celebration.  We threw an impromptu family party with chicken burgers, nacho dip and a shrimp ring.  We then watched the holiday classic Muppet Family Christmas with fancy bags of popcorn mixed with pretzels.  We are happy to be all together and doing something fun.  Looking forward to the weekend.

Ali's on the Naughty List

Apparently Alistair loves Advent calendars.  Loves them.

We found Ali today hiding behind the couch holding Seamus' Advent calendar with all the doors pried wide open and the chocolate treasures MIA.  Alistair had eaten every single chocolate, even the extra special one for Christmas Eve.  Ali knew this put him on Santa's naughty list.  He looked up at Seamus with the pillaged calendar in one hand and chocolate smeared all over his face and said, "Ne fait pas ca!" then "Only one per day!"  To Seamus' credit, he took the whole thing in stride.  He looked from Alistair to me.  "We'll get you a new one," I told him.  "Yup," he answered.  And that was it.

After school we headed to the store where obviously they are no longer stocking Advent calendars but luckily Seamus was satisfied with a fancy box of chocolates.  He will get to pick one per day.  The most important thing on his mind though is how to keep his new box of treasures out of Alistair's thieving hands.  Good grief.  Ali is for sure getting coal from Santa this year.
