Baaaaaad News!

Spring is a crazy time to be a barnyard animal on our farm. We fluctuate from ice to water to mud and back again so many times, everyone has trouble keeping up. Today the temperature soared to +12 degrees C!  On the upside, it actually felt warm outside and a bunch of snow melted. On the downside, my ice javelin is no longer (a tragedy, to be sure) and a sludgy lake has formed in front of the door to the sheep's barn.

Violet: "Mama look!  I can't come out. My footsies will get wet. This is baaaaaaad news!"

Not ones to be outdone, the chickens have their own sludgy lake forming by their back door.

At least it is warm and dry inside the coop.

It is cosy on Kate's side too.
She is still separated from the rest of the flock while her head
feathers grow back in but at least she is no longer living in the kids' bathroom!
