In addition to Kate the duck taking up temporary residence in the kids' bathroom, we had a chicken visitor too. These white hens have huge and delicate combs that do not fare well in the winter weather. This hen cut her comb and bled profusely. She came in for a bath to get rid of all the blood on her feathers and then stayed for a bit to dry out completely. She didn't seem to be too upset about the whole thing given that she laid an egg while in rehab. She's now back in the coop with her sisters.
