Forillon National Park to Port Daniel Reserve Faunique

This was our most jam packed day so far. We started out with a short hike with a big payoff - woohoo for waterfalls!

Then, after spotting three seals swimming near the beach, we spent the morning at the fishing pier catching some mackerel. This was the highlight of Ian’s day!

Next up was an 8km hike to Land’s End. It was a solid uphill trek but so beautiful. We all made it to the lighthouse but only Liam and I hiked down the cliff (and then back up again) to the Land’s End lookout. I was grateful Ian agreed to stay behind so I didn’t have to carry Alistair down and back up this last portion of the steep trail.

We took the gravel bike trail back from the lighthouse (instead of returning via the hiking trail we used when coming in) which was great because Alistair walked the whole 4km out on his own two legs! Granted it was a gradual decline the whole way back but by this point I was just so glad not to be carrying him!

After leaving Forillon National Park, we passed by this amazing rock formation (Perce Rock) in the sea at sunset. It was magical.

We rolled in to our Sepaq cabin in the Port Daniel Reserve Faunique before dark. Aside from unloading the van, we didn’t do much except collapse into our very comfortable beds in exhaustion. What a day!
