Seamus' Snorkelling Saturday

It is never difficult to find things to occupy us on a beautiful Saturday afternoon.

I cleaned up the backyard, visited the honey bees and lugged all our vegetable starts outside to begin the hardening off process.

Ian and Liam went walleye fishing on Buckham's Bay and then Ian cut the lawn and weed whacked the yard.

Ali helped me out with yard work, did a bunch of swinging on our play structure and then took a long afternoon nap.

Seamus donned his swim suit and went snorkelling.  For over an hour.

We scattered coins in the bottom of the pool for him to find, he practised breathing through the snorkel and he especially enjoyed spitting into the mask and mashing the saliva around with his finger to get rid of the fog.  After all this, I had to laugh when a water logged Seamus came to return his snorkelling equipment leaving with the comment, "It was fun but I just don't feel like I was really swimming."  No kidding buddy.  But Seamus' challenges with authenticity certainly weren't from a lack of effort on his part.  This kid really just needs a Caribbean vacation.  Then again, don't we all.
