This morning we headed back into Frontenac Park, this time via the Kingsford Dam for a family hike around the Tetsmine Loop. This was the hike Liam and I were trying to get to earlier this spring when we got the van stuck. Today we made it to the trailhead successfully. We did a leisurely 11 km (4.5 hour) hike passing old mica mines, some cool forest finds, a meagre waterfall (it's been very dry here) and fantastic lookout spots. The weather was cool, breezy and fabulous. What a day!

Nature is crazy! |
We followed up our hike with a quiet afternoon, an epic fish fry for dinner with cream soda ice cream floats for dessert and an evening campfire.
Except for a few ticks, a blister on my big toe and a scrape on Liam's palm, it was pretty much a perfect day. The boys are already planning our next adventure!
